Workshop for Welsh Coaches:International Tennis Speaker Emma Doyle

We are delighted to announce that Emma Doyle will be running a tennis workshop on the 27th June at Sport Wales, Sophia Gardens Cardiff. It will be from 1.00pm – 4.00pm

The workshop is aimed at any tennis coaches who are involved with developing female players at any level.

This workshop gives 3 credits to your Accreditation and is £30 – to book on and for payment details please email jack.hocking@tenniswales.org.uk .

Below are the details of what will be delivered by Emma on the day and please find attached her Biography.

Part 1) Coaching Female Athletes: Empower & Engage

ü  Contemporary teaching pedagogy – “walk in her shoes” (Empathy activity)

ü  Coaching style continuum – differences between being direct and indirect

ü  How to be more effective through improved language and questioning skills

ü  Building self-esteem which leads to confidence

Part 2) Tennis coaching for female players: Develop

ü  Problem Solving through linking technical and tactical – constraints-let teaching

ü  Common technical and tactical differences between males and females

ü  Female only squads and building future leaders

Part 3) Coaching Female Teams: Girl Power

ü  Player driven values to create team guidelines and goals

ü  Athletic development and cooperation activities

ü  Task and team based activities

ü  Celebrate the success stories

‘Tailoring workshops to suit

the needs of your coaches.’

Emma is also running a sports generic session in the morning from 9.30-12.30 at Sophia Gardens, which will also include 3 credits. We are waiting for information from Sport Coach UK and Sport Wales on how to book onto that workshop, we will let you know as soon as possible in case you cannot make the afternoon session.

 

HEAD COACHES

To maximise this opportunity we are also inviting all head coaches to bring along two female players 12+ of club standard to participate in a Girl Power Camp that Emma will be running at Cardiff Met from 5.30pm-8pm on the 27th.

This event is free to everyone and the girls and yourselves will have a great time. It will also include 2 credits for your coach accreditation. If you would also like to invite assistant coaches or tennis leaders to observe the session then please do so.
