Tennis Wales Awards 2018

Thursday, August 23, 2018

Tennis Wales is delighted to confirm that the nomination process for the Tennis Wales and British Tennis Awards is now open.

These awards help to reward the people who deliver tennis in communities across Wales and Great Britain.  We encourage everyone to nominate the volunteers, coaches and other individuals who make a difference across Wales.

Clubs, communities and education venues are invited to enter the awards with fantastic prizes up for grabs for some British Tennis Categories.

Nominations for all categories can be made online via the LTA website  (please note that this year you can only nominate via the LTA website and we will not accept enteries via any other format, this is to ensure a consistent approach).

The British Tennis and Tennis Wales Award Categories include:

  •  Lifetime Achievement Award
  •  Volunteer of the Year  Award
  •  Young Person of the Year Award
  •  Coach of the Year Award
  •  Club of the Year Award
  •  Community Award
  •  Education Award
  •  Disability Award
  •  Official of the Year Award
  •  Competition of the Year Award

In addition to these British Tennis Awards, Tennis Wales will also present an award for the following categories:

  • Player of the Year
  • Team of the Year
  • Club Team of the Year

Nominations received from within Wales will at first be entered into the Tennis Wales Awards process.  The winners of the Tennis Wales Awards (for the first 10 categories only) will then be automatically nominated for national British Tennis Awards.

The Tennis Wales Awards ceremony will be held on Saturday 26th January 2019 at St Davids Hotel in Ewloe. Details on how to book tickets will be available towards the end of the year. The national British Tennis Awards ceremony will be held in London in July.

Nominations for Wales will close on 24th November.  The panel follow set criteria and the agreed terms of reference when deciding on the winners.

The LTA have produced tips for writing a good nomination and please remember to include as much relevant detail as possible, and do not assume that the panel will already know the details of the achievement.

Nominate now and good luck to everyone!!
