We arrived at AELTC to meet the opposing team and have coffee in the main clubhouse overlooking the courts.
Play soon started and our youngest pair of Malik&Barnwell put up strong resistence against much more experienced pairs but lost all 3 rubbers, Rooney & Southwood faired a little better winning 1 match in 3rd set tie break and losing the next by the same scoreline but losing the last match against the strongest pair relatively easily(unfortunately Nathan injuring his shoulder in this match), however Fitzpatrick & Lee were in fantastic form winning all 3 matches, giving total match score of 5-4 to AELTC.
All matches were played in great spirit. Afterwards all players in their finest had tea in the clubhouse,a most enjoyable way to finish a great days tennis. In addition to the tennis all players and guests were given a tour of the club,players dressing rooms and centre court....and our youngest supporter,one of warwickshires and great britains top juniors, was also given a tour round the new interactive Wimbledon museum,which I have to say was superb.
In conclusion a great day was had by all!
