Over the bank holiday weekend both Warwickshire boys and girls teams competed for qualification for the National group finals to be played in June at the Bolton arena. The boys played at the Nottingham tennis centre alongside the British tour event, the conditions over the weekend were very challenging with the first days play being cancelled due to rain. The second days play was also tough with strong winds sweeping across the courts, but with great determination the boys fought on and secured the group win without the loss of a match.
The girls also had a tremendous result as they qualified for the National finals at Bolton with a group win. The girls were due to play outside on the clay at Loughborough University but when the bad weather hit they were able to play on the indoor courts.
The format for the event consisted of 3 singles and one doubles match with each rubber counting for 2 points.
