The AEGON Classic will play host to a family fun weekend over the last two days of the tournament on Saturday June 12 and Sunday June 13 2010.
Saturday will be themed as “Have a go Day” with plenty of opportunities for all the family to get involved and enjoy the tennis. On site will be the Highland Spring Hot Shots Tour with the various activities to test your agility, strength and speed of serve. Qualified coaches from the Edgbaston Priory Club will be overseeing the action and offering tips and the most promising girl and boy on the day will be awarded with a free coaching session at the club. Also on offer for you to win will be a Nintendo Wii.
On Sunday it’s all about the “Family Finals Day”. As the players battle it out on court to win the coveted Trophy, families can have just as much fun off it as they join in the carnival. There will be a live steel pan band to help with the atmosphere as well as free activities for the kids including a bouncy castle, face painting and balloon sculpting. There will be another opportunity for you to get something signed by one of the professional players as well as have your picture taken with the Trophy.
In addition there will be opportunities on both days for adults and kids alike to have their photo taken with the famous Maud Watson Trophy that is presented to the singles winner on finals day. There will also be autograph sessions with some of the star players at the British Tennis Membership promotional stand.
And that’s not all, over the two days all kids go free with a full paying adult.
