Henley Serves up a Double Header Weekend of Tennis.

Henley Tennis Club recently hosted its ‘Mini Green Club’ and  ‘16 and Under Mixed Doubles’ tournaments. The Mini Green competition, open to children 10 and under, was won by Alex Evans beating last year’s Mini Orange winner, Louis Walsh. The match was close fought with plenty of rallies going over 30 shots, it eventually finished 4 – 2 to Alex.

The 16 & under Mixed Doubles saw some tough competition with six pairs taking part. There were some spirited, closely fought matches in glorious sunshine.  The eventual victors were the brother and sister duo Edward and Izzy Hardy who narrowly beat George Redwood and Emma Hancocks in a tie-break.

Coach Neil Supperstone said ‘their was a great atmosphere at the club with some really close matches and it was encouraging to see so many youngsters playing and competing on the same day.’

The club is launching a new Monday junior club night, so to find out more about the different opportunities, and the chance of discovering the next Andy Murray, please contact Neil Supperstone on 07912 664426 or email neil@coolsportz.co.uk
