The Warwickshire County Closed mini tennis orange event took place on Thursday at Billesley Indoor Tennis Centre with well over 30 Warwickshire players participating on both Billesley’s indoor and outdoor courts.
We were treated to some excellent tennis on show during the day and some excellent weather to boot, spectators watching were adding to a great atmosphere, cheering on the players throughout the day. Warwickshire Tennis Services Assistant Sarah Heaton was present at the event and highly impressed with the tennis on show “I was highly impressed with the tennis on display and everyone embracing all aspects of the Fair Play campaign”.
In the end the boy’s event was won by Charlie Watson who defeated Harry Lazell after coming from behind 2-7, 8-6, 8-6 with the girls event won by Mary Hoggard who defeated Lucy Gribben 7-5, 7-1.
