What's it all about?
With the nation still on a high after Andy’s win and whilst the sun is shining, now is a great time to promote tennis opportunities in clubs and parks across the UK and get more people playing tennis. As part of our plans to capitalise on the recent buzz we are running a ‘Great British Tennis Weekend’ at 30 park sites nationwide on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of August, where people will be able to turn up and have a go for free. You can get involved!
This summer there have already been some great success stories from clubs who have run open days to attract new people to the game. The most successful have used a specific membership offer such as ‘first month free’ or ‘free beginner coaching course for new members’. One club in Cheshire added 67 new members in one day!
With the US Open fast approaching we have created some simple guidance and promotional materials to help you get your venue involved in the‘Great British Tennis Weekend’. If you would like to get involved you can either run an open day on the same weekend or on any weekend over the remainder of the summer and autumn. Your open day can be one day or you can run it for the whole weekend - it's your call!
