Harbury Tennis Club recently hosted a successful Primary schools Tennis festival following up a series of in-school taster sessions for year 4 children in 5 local primary schools - Harbury, Moreton Morrell, Southam St.James, Bishops Itchington and Southam St. Mary’s. Around 140 children took part in the taster sessions and each school was asked to nominate 6-8 children to take part in the Tennis Festival at the club. It was led by David Mountford, LTA Licensed Senior Club Coach, and was a great success with 34 children participating on our 3 courts! It was based on Mini Red principles, activity based but with some scoring to give the children an idea of tennis match play. The emphasis was very much on fun with an inter-school competition to round off the busy afternoon which was won by Moreton Morrell.

“thank you for the great experience which you provided for our children here at Moreton Morrell, both on the taster session and also at the festival. The children were absolutely buzzing when they came back and the proud medal winners were immediately posted onto our school website.”
