Henley-in-Arden Tennis Club held their Doubles Championships on Sunday 13th September. Winners of the Ladies’ Doubles were Mother and Daughter pairing Jane and Nicole Palmer, whilst Peter Quince and Sam Turner took the Men’s prize. The trophies, together with other Club awards will be presented at the Awards Dinner to be held at the White Swan in Henley on Friday 16th October.
Whilst the Championships were running, the Club held a barbeque for Junior Members and awarded the prizes from the Junior Championships held in July as well as other Club Awards. The Judy Wilde Trophy, presented to the Junior Member(s) who have made the greatest contribution to the Club over the past year, was awarded jointly to Alex Barrow and Molly Eyre whilst Kit Saltmarsh was awarded the trophy for the Most Improved Junior. Champions of the various age groups were also presented with their trophies.
Fortunately the weather held and a good time was had by all – thanks to organizer Paula Holmes and her team of volunteers.
