Warwickshire Mini Leagues – Jan to Apr 2017

Mini Red

Once again, it was a double for Edgbaston Archery this term.  In fact, it is the 4th winter term in a row that they have won the girls only competition!

Mini Red Girls League (5 teams; Archery, Rugby, Kenilworth, Leamington & Stratford)

1st: Archery, 2nd: Rugby

Mini Red Mixed competition

The 4 area winners progressed to the County finals at Virgin, Coventry on Sunday 2nd April.

The final 4 saw Archery edge out Leamington 6-4 and Kenilworth beat first time semi-finalists Beechcroft 8-2.

Leamington took third position on points count back after drawing with Beechcroft 5-5.  In an amazing, tense final, Archery came through, again on points count back, after drawing the match 5-5 with Kenilworth!

Aegon Team Tennis Warwickshire 2017

I am pleased to report that Warwickshire received 297 entries for this event.  (Up from 277 in 2016).  5 new venues have entered the competition; the most new venues in the country other than Surrey with 8.  The increase of entries by 20 was the fourth biggest increase behind Hampshire and Avon (24) and Scotland East (23).

A few of the events started in early April, but the competition really gets going this weekend!
