Abigail George after her win at the Regional Tournament at Tipton
|
Many of the juniors at Leamington Tennis and Squash Club (LLTSC) have taken the opportunity of half term to get out and about and enter some tennis tournaments across the region.
There was great success at the tournament at Tipton Sports Academy in West Bromwich, which hosted a week long Grade 3 regional tournament. Abigail George brought home the top prize in the Girls 9 & under following some very close matches. This is the first tournament at this regional level that Abigail has won. Sam Parsons also brought home a trophy as runner up in the 12 & under category.
Sam Parsons joined forces with Dylan Pillinger and entered a Grade 4 county level tournament in Knighton, Leicester where they were victorious in the 12 & under doubles competition. Dylan also travelled to Beechwood in Coventry which also hosted a Grade 4 tournament where he stepped up an age category winning the 14 & under prize.
Throughout half term, Leamington hosted its own tournament at the Grade 5 level which is more local level competition. Abigail George used this event as a warm up for the Tipton event where she comfortably won the Girls 9 & under event. William Ellis claimed first place in the boys 8 & under and Sam Groom took top spot in the mixed 10 & under event.
