Warwickshire Ladies 60s sadly lost 0-4 to Derbyshire today. Kay Gebbels and Caroline Rhodes (both Kenilworth) struggled to get used to the hard indoor courts and lighting losing the first set 2-6 to Sue Arrowsmith and Claire Bridges. Settling they played strongly to take the second set 7-5 but lost the championship tie break 8-10. The story was very similar with Liz Bruner (Bidford) and Wendy Supperstone (David Lloyd) who lost 3-6, 6-4, 0-1 (9-11) to Shirley Houghton and Mary Pitt. Both couples lost the reverse rubbers in straight sets, frustrated by the opposition's pinpoint lobbing and seeming ability to get everything back.
