This weekend saw the Finals of the National U12 County Cup 2017 at Bolton Arena. Both the girls and boys Yorkshire Team qualified for a place in the finals 2 weeks ago in their groups which a great achievement in itself.
The U12 boys’ team consisted of Joe, Sam, Scott and Alexander. Friday saw the boys defeated by Avon 4-0, Saturday beating Essex and West of Scotland in 2 very close shootouts. Sunday’s match vs Lincolnshire would decide on where the boy’s would place and with a fantastic 3-1 win they placed 3rd to claim the Bronze Medal! What a super achievement the Boy’s U12 Yorkshire Team.
The U12 girls’ team consisted of Gabriella, Isabella, Zara, Mia and Millie. Friday saw the girls defeat Kent 6-2, Saturday beating West of Scotland 4-0 and beating Nottinghamshire in a nail biting tie 2-2 but clinched the win in a shootout. Sunday’s match vs Middlesex ended 3-1 to Yorkshire placing the girls in poll position as Winners!!!! The girls put in a great performance to walk away with the Gold Medal!!!
Both team did incredibly well this weekend and all involved should be very proud of yourselves, Yorkshire tennis definitely are!!! Well done again and please do shout about your achievements through Facebook and Twitter we want to spread the word of how well you are all doing.
