Tennis Venues
Many tennis venues provide opportunities for player to compete as individuals.
These opportunities include matchplay competitions, tournaments, box leagues, and ladders. If you are new to competing then internal competitions at your tennis venue are a great place to start.

Tennis Box Leagues
There are a number of tennis league providers operating box leagues throughout the country which enable you to compete in your local area. The leagues are normally singles based, however there are also some doubles leagues. These competitions enable you to meet new people, play more matches and improve your game.

Find an LTA approved competition
There is the opportunity to compete in LTA approved competitions taking place around the country.
These competitions are aimed at players who want to gain competitive experience in more challenging environments. To play in these competitions you will need a British Tennis Membership and rating which you can aim to improve.

To get the most out of competition you should try and play against players of a similar standard. To help with this competitions are graded from 7-1, progressing from local club level to county, regional, and finally national level competitions.

In the last week of August each county across Great Britain runs a County Championships which provides competitive opportunities for mini, junior and adult players of all standards. These tournaments offer both singles and doubles matches.

allplay
allplay is a national campaign, brought to you by the LTA, to help people play tennis. allplay is for anybody just starting out in tennis as well as people who are looking to play more often.
You can find people to play tennis with locally. When you sign up, you build a short tennis profile of yourself which includes things like your playing standard, where you’d like to play as well as a smiling photo of yourself. Then you can build up your network of tennis playing friends and organise games.
