On Friday 25th January LeAF Campus played host to its second tennis competition for students in years 7,8 and 9. The competition was played on the new, state-of-the-art tennis courts on the LeAF Campus and we were anticipating a sea of fabulous tennis skills and play - we were certainly not let down. Nine players battled out an intense, hard fought and nerve wracking tournament.
Daniel ( year 8) was the eventual winner who produced a champion-like display to claim his first title. On his debut Sean reached an unexpected final to the surprise of his fellow players.
On a cold, wintry day in North Bournemouth, fantastic tennis and amazing sportsmanship was shown by all of the superstar tennis players.
After his victory, Daniel had these words for the waiting press: ' I am delighted to win my first title at LeAF. I am improving all the time and hope to have more success in the future.'
The next LeAF tennis tournament will be held for year 5 and 6 players on Friday 1st February at Elm Academy, LeAF Campus, Holloway Avenue.
For now, the year 7, 8 and 9 players are preparing for the next grand slam in March.
A LeAF title could be within their grasp!!!
