PRESTON AND BOLTON WHEELCHAIR TENNIS TOURNAMENTS

This February Tennis Lancashire are working with the Tennis Foundation in running two world class wheelchair tennis tournaments in the North West. From 16 - 19 February South Ribble Tennis Centre will host the Preston Indoor ITF 2 Wheelchair Tennis Tournament whilst the following week 21-25 February the USN Bolton Arena will host the Bolton Indoor ITF 2 Wheelchair Tennis Tournament. Both events have attracted a world class entry with Rio Paralympic medalists and competitors from both Britain and overseas lining up to compete for the title.

Preston:

World class wheelchair tennis is coming to the North West this February as the Preston and Bolton Indoor Wheelchair Tennis Tournaments return with a whole host of Paralympic stars competing! From 16 – 19th February players will compete for the Preston Indoor Wheelchair Tennis Title at South Ribble Tennis Centre. The ITF 3 event boasts a strong entry featuring Rio Paralympians Marc McCarroll from Great Britain and World No. 10 Takuya Miki from Japan in the men’s division and fellow Rio Paralympians Louise Hunt, World No. 10 Kgothatso Montjane (South Africa) and world No. 12 Michaela Spaanstra (Netherlands). World No.11 Antony Cotterill heads the Quad draw over what promises to be an exciting four days of competition! Entry for spectators is free, with the public encouraged to come down and watch some world class sport. Bolton:

From 21 – 25th February some of the world’s best wheelchair tennis players will be taking to the courts at the USN Bolton Arena for the Bolton Indoor Wheelchair Tennis Tournament. It’s your chance to see Rio Paralympic medalists Jordanne Whiley and Lucy Shuker in action as they head the women’s entries alongside Rio Paralympic silver medalist Marjolein Buis from the Netherlands. World No.8 Maikel Scheffers will be leading the charge for the title in the men’s draw with a strong international contingent including players from Japan, South Africa, Spain and France heading to the North West for one of the most prestigious tournaments on the UNIQLO wheelchair tennis tour! Entry for spectators is free, with the public encouraged to come down and watch some world class sport.
