Ladies Summer League

Magdala ladies moved to the top of division 1 following a comfortable away win against David Lloyd West Bridgford. Frances Benson and Jo Moran were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 6 games. Mansfield moved into third place after beating Musters, who are struggling at the bottom, and David Lloyd West Bridgford. Veteran, Ann Brown and 14 year old Emilia Lazarevic took 6 sets for the loss of 9 games against Musters and 6 sets for the loss of only 4 games against David Lloyd.

Lady Bay look set for a return to division 1, when they beat second placed West Bridgford ‘A’, to remain unbeaten. Lauren Trigg and Sally Walker were the top couple with 5.5 sets. West Bridgford ‘A’ bounced back in their next match with a convincing home win against Farnsfield. Lisa Knowles and Eleanor Hawketts were the top couple with 6 sets for the loss of only 6 games. Magdala ‘A’ won their first match of the season, with a comfortable win against third placed Burton Joyce, thanks to a convincing performance from Beth Mallalue and Margot Kersh, with 6 sets for the loss of only 5 games. Grantham beat the bottom team Woodthorpe ‘A’, and moved ahead of Farnsfield into fourth place. Sarah Patton and Liz Isles took the maximum sets.

Caunton ‘B’ moved into second place in division 5B, following a home win against East Bridgford ‘B’. Sally Durdy and Cheryl Stanton were the top couple with 5 sets, with the most resistance coming from Sarah Parnell and Sam Fox with 4 sets. Grantham ‘A’ moved into third place following a convincing win against Mansfield ‘B’. Elaine Maplethorpe and Jackie Thomson were the top couple with 6 sets.
