Ladies Winter League
Magdala ‘A’ started their season in the ladies division 2 with a convincing away win against Keyworth, which was helped by the home teams lack of available players. Christine Lockwood and Jane Hall were the top couple with 32 games, and Holly Mellors with Donna Hilton added a further 29 games.
Caunton continue to dominate division 3, with a comfortable home win against second placed Musters ‘A’. Fiona Sanger and Ruth Franks won 26 games, with Maggie Severn and Eleanor Johnson winning 25 games.
The Park had a good away win at Retford in difficult conditions, where Jean Blake and Caitlin Simcock were the top couple with 31 games. But they came unstuck in their next home match, where they lost to the league leaders Woodthorpe ‘A’, who remain unbeaten, Karen Dames and Amber Smith were the top couple with 24 games.
Newark continued their good form in division 5A, and remain unbeaten following a comfortable away win against David Lloyd Nottingham ‘A’. Claire Eden and Sue Bilton were the top couple with 31 games, with Sarah Smith and Jane Hendley contributing 27 games. Burton Joyce ‘A’ moved into second place following a home win against West Bridgford ‘C’, where Margaret Finch and Lucy Steel were the top couple with 31 games.
