Notts Jocelyn Rae scored another doubles win this year with victory in her home city of Nottingham. Partnering Anna Smith, Rae took the all important first set tie break 7-6 (6) to set up a tight second set win 6 -4 to secure the title in the ITF $20,000 event last week.
Having defeated the No 2 seeds in the second round, Rae & fellow Brit Smith went on to defeat the 4th seeds then the 1st seeds Broady (GBR) & Voracova (CZE) in the final.
Fellow Nottingham girl, Freya Christie lost in Round 2 of the doubles after a tough 1st round match.
In the $10,000 Men’s Singles, Luke Bambridge from Nottingham got through to the semis before coming up against the eventual winner Dan Smethurst the No. 2 seed.
