We were fortunate to have a beautiful, sunny day for our GBTW. It started at 1pm and finished at about 4pm, with half hour long coaching sessions led by coaches from On The Ball, plus 2 of our own members. They led sessions for children (mini tennis) and adults (cardiotennis and Tennis Xpress). In addition, we had 'free play' available on our fourth court, and provided rackets and hitting partners where needed!
Throughout the afternoon, free refreshments were available, including strawberries and cream of course! Loads of club members came down to help - meeting and greeting, registering attendees, playing tennis where needed, serving refreshments, providing information about the club, etc. and generally making people feel welcome. All helpers wore the LTA 'Here to help' T shirts or their own T shirts of a similar colour - something which visitors commented on as having been really helpful. We also decided to have a free draw this year, with rackets and balls courtesy of Notts LTA, plus other prizes donated by OTB and members, and a special membership offer of £29 for an 8 week family membership.
