Men’s Winter League 

Musters won a very close match at Mapperley Park in the men’s first division, where Rob Cree and Barry Hayes-Gill won 20 games. The top couple of Duncan Burd and Seb Harwood from Mapperley Park won 25 games. Magdala started their season with a convincing home win against Lady Bay, where Peter Kirton and Chris Mills won 24 games, which was matched by Mike Bottomley and Richard Ockleford. West Bridgford started their season with a comfortable home win against Woodthorpe, where the veteran pairing of Gerry Radford and Andy Wood were the top couple with 25 games. West Bridgford then went on to beat the high flying Musters team where the father and son pairing on Peter and Matt Whitehead won 23 games, which was matched by Ross Savage and Josh Parmenter.

Farnsfield opened their division 2 campaign with a good away win at Wollaton where Ashley Norwood and Jack Roffe were the dominant couple with 31 games.

The Park continued their good start to the season with a comfortable home win against Keyworth ‘A’, where Abdul Hassan and Alex Harrison were the star couple winning 35 games for the loss of only 1 game. Attenborough started their season with a good away win against Burton Joyce ‘A’, where Chris Lacey and Simon Kaizik were the top couple with 26 games.

In division 5B, Retford started off in dominant form when they crushed an unlucky Newark team. John Gazeley and Tom Bradley were the top couple with 35 games, backed up by Tom Hannah and Sam Hughes with 29 games. Lady Bay ‘A’ also started well with a home win against Mapperley Park ‘B’. James Chester and Ben Towle were the top couple with a match winning 30 games.

Following their opening win against Bingham ‘A’, in division 6B, Attenborough found Eastwood a much more difficult opponent, mainly due to the dominance of the Eastwood second pair of Nick Drewitt and Tim Pykett who won an impressive 34 games to secure the match
