Wandsworth “Gets Active” in King George's Park

More than 5,000 people participated in the action at King George’s Park on Saturday 12 July 2014 as part of the Get Active festival aimed at encouraging healthy and active lifestyles.

The event was officially launched by Olympian and chairman of Active Wandsworth, Chris Baillieu, along with the borough's deputy mayor Councillor Kim Caddy.

It featured the culmination of the Year Five and Six Mini Olympix competition, which saw more than 100 children from eight local schools compete in a range of sports including tennis with Penwortham Primary School emerging victorious.

Dozens of free activities were provided to inspire the public to become more healthy and active, Cross Sports were on hand with 4 large inflatable tennis activities and All Star Tennis delivered an exciting programme of adult and junior coaching sessions free of charge.
