Community Tennis Pilot - Glasgow

Share

Objectives of our Glasgow pilot include: improving existing and developing new provision in selected areas across the city via a network of Tennis Hubs which link to non-traditional places to play. Also to develop a tennis workforce capable of delivering quality programmes in targeted areas of the city, thereby providing activity which is inclusive, accessible, sustainable and affordable. Our support saw funding unlocked for the redevelopment of 12 outdoor courts and new floodlighting at three parks sites in Glasgow. As a result, Glasgow now has a strong network of 14 indoor and 22 floodlit outdoor public tennis courts, all park courts in Glasgow are free and you can find one near you here.

Even though tennis isn’t a Commonwealth sport this year, the team are working hard to use the spotlight the Commonwealth Games in July will bring to Glasgow to showcase the investment we have made in tennis and the different opportunities available for people to play.

Our Glasgow pilot is run in partnership with Glasgow Life
