Jordanne Whiiley has moved into the women's singles quarter-finals and women's doubles semi-finals at the Sydney International Wheelchair Tennis Open.
The 18-year-old British No 2, who made her Grand Slam debut at last week's Australian Open in Melbourne, beat Japan's Megumi Fukuda 6-2, 6-0 on Wednesday in her first match of the season against opposition ranked outside the world top 10.
Current world No 10 Whiley now faces Belgian world No 6 Annick Sevenans in the last eight of the ITF 1 Series event.
Whiley later paired up with South Africa's Kgothatso Montjane to beat Australia's Janel Manns and Nicole Den Dulk of the Netherlands 6-0, 6-0 in their opening women's doubles match. Whiley and Montjane will take on Dutch top seeds Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot, the women's doubles runners-up at the Australian Open, in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Britain's Jamie Burdekin plays South Africa's Lucas Sithole for the second time in a week when they meet in the semif-finals of the quad singles.
Burdekin has moved up two places to No 15 in this week's quad singles world rankings after finishing runner-up to Sithole in last week's ITF 3 Series Melbourne Open, where the South African won a final set tie-break in their decisive round-robin match.
Burdekin is the second seed for the quad singles in Sydney and has a bye into the semi-finals, while Sithole eased through his opening match for the loss of just two games.
