Oxfordshire pair prepare for Guinness World Record tennis attempt

Two tennis coaches from Oxfordshire are preparing to try and set a new Guinness World Record for the longest continuous singles tennis match.

Andy Aitken and Ryan Trickey will embark on their record breaking attempt, starting on 8th August at The White Horse Tennis and Leisure Centre in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, aiming to play for 72 hours, surpassing the current record of 60 hours, 59 minutes and 58 seconds.

As well as setting a new record, the duo hope to raise £20,000 towards the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust which aims to support disabled tennis players by providing players with new equipment, learning resources and facilities in order for players to continue enjoying the game.

To make a donation of £3 just text TENNIS to 70007* or alternatively donate via JustGiving at www.justgiving.com/longestsinglestennismatch.

If you would like to volunteer as an independent witness during the 8th, 9th and 10th August, please contact Gilly English, Fundraiser for The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust (gilly@sportwins.co.uk)
