Gordon Reid's 7-5, 7-5 victory over Dutch world No 6 Ronald Vink on Tuesday's first day of the BNP Paribas French Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships remains the stand out performance of British players after Wednesday's second day at the third ITF Super Series tournament of the year in Antony, near Paris.
Lucy Shuker and Adam Field joined Reid in advancing in the three main draw singles events after Shuker and Field opened their women's singles and quad singles campaigns on Wednesday with comfortable wins.
After a first round bye, sixth seed Shuker defeated Austria's Henriett Koosz 7-6, 6-1 to move into the women's singles quarter-finals and the world No 8 will now play Dutch third seed Marjolein Buis as she bids to reach the French Open semi-finals for the second year in succession.
Shuker is the only Briton left in the women's singles after British No 2 Jordanne Whiley lost 1-6, 4-6 to Dutch world No 2 Jiske Griffioen.
The first day of quad singles competition saw Field defeat Frenchman Denis Alves-Cerquiera 6-1, 6-2 with American world No 1 David Wagner set to be Field's next opponent.
After all eight seeded players in the quad singles had first round byes, Thursday's third day of play in Antony will have plenty of British interest as second seed and world No 2 Peter Norfolk opens his challenge against Dutchman Bas van Erp.
Also in action will be fourth seed Andrew Lapthorne taking on former world No 1 Shraga Weinberg of Israel, sixth seed Jamie Burdekin faces Frenchman Stephane Jance and eight seed John Parfitt plays Italy's Giuseppe Polidori.
While Reid secured the biggest win of his career against Vink in the first round of the men's singles, David Phillipson and Marc McCarroll both lost out to world top 10 opposition and both players will now contest the men's consolation singles.
All three top ranked Britons met in Tuesday's first round of the men's doubles and it was McCarroll and Reid that emerged victorious, beating Phillipson and his French partner Frederic Cazeaudumec 7-5, 6-2. McCarroll and Reid take on Dutch second seeds Maikel Scheffers and Vink in the quarter-finals.
Thursday's schedule also sees Shuker and Whiley begin their women's doubles campaign, while Lapthorne and Norfolk start the quad doubles as top seeds. Field will also be in quad doubles action as he and his American partner Marc McLean bid to earn a quarter-final against Burdekin and Parfitt.
