British players won three of the four matches they were involved in during Wednesday's opening day of the Cajun Classic Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
David Phillipson and Gordon Reid, Britain's top two ranked men's players, progressed to the second round of both the men's singles and men's doubles after straight sets victories at the ITF 1 Series event.
British No 1 and fifth seed Phillipson fought off a strong first set challenge from American Anthony Anderson before winning 7-5, 6-1 to set up a contest against Canada's Yann Matthieu. Meanwhile, seventh seed Reid will face Brazil's Carlos Santos after a comfortable 6-1, 6-0 victory over Israel's Genadi Kohanov.
Later in the day Phillipson and Reid paired up to beat Kohanov and his fellow Israeli Asaaf Stokol 6-1, 6-0. The third seeds move on to a quarter-final against Americans Zachary Beaulieu and Jon Rydberg.
While British women's No 2 Jordanne Whiley had a first round bye and begins her women's singles challenge on Thursday, Jamie Burdekin and Antony Cotterill were both in action in the quad singles, with Burdekin advancing to the quarter-finals.
Burdekin eased to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over American David Jordan, with one of Jordan's compatriots, world No 8 Bryan Barten, now awaiting Burdekin in the last eight.
However, Cotterill will now take his place in the quad consolation singles draw after a 1-6, 4-6 loss to world No 5 and third seed Sarah Hunter of Canada.
