Alex Jewitt left Turkey on Sunday to return to Britain with two men's singles titles after winning his second NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour final within a week in Antalya.
Jewitt looks set to claim the British No 4 spot when the new world rankings are published early next week by the International Tennis Federation after he beat Iran's Hossein Mamipour to win the Antalya Open in the second of back-to-back ITF Futures Series finals for both players.
Jewitt beat Mamipour 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to justify his top seeding and gain his latest triumph, having defeated the Iranian second seed 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 to win last Monday's rain-delayed final at the Turkish Open at the same venue on the Turkish Mediterranean coast.
However, in another rematch form the Turkish Open Jewitt had to be content with runners-up honours in the men's doubles. The Briton and his Greek partner Giorgios Lazaridis took Iranian second seeds Mamipour and Muhammed Yaghoubi to a deciding champions tie-break for the second time in Antalya, but Mamipour and Yaghoubi once again had the edge to prevail 7-5, 4-6, (10-8).
