21/03/2011 Winners decided at Senior Students AEGON Team Tennis Finals

The winning teams have been crowned at the AEGON Team Tennis Schools Senior Students Finals 2010/11 in the Boys, Girls and Mixed events.

Ellesmere College (Girls), Peter Symonds College (Boys) and Culford School (Mixed) were all victorious after some enthralling matches at Bolton Arena.

17/03/2011 Student finalists gather in Bolton for AEGON Team Tennis Finals

The remaining 24 teams in the AEGON Team Tennis Schools Senior Students competition are assembling at Bolton Arena this weekend for the 2010/11 Finals.

Teams will compete in a round robin format over Friday 18th to Sunday 20th March with a final taking place in each of the boys, girls and mixed events.

14/03/2011 McCarroll nets Biel-Bienne doubles title

Britain's Marc McCarroll won his seventh ITF 3 Series doubles title on the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour on Sunday at the Biel-Bienne Indoors in Switzerland, while fellow Briton Louise Hunt finished runner-up in the women's singles.

Members of the Tennis Foundation’s Wheelchair Tennis Performance squad, including Beijing double Paralympic gold medallist Peter Norfolk, have visited the London 2012 Paralympic Wheelchair Tennis venue at Eton Manor to see first-hand the progress being made on construction.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and Tennis Foundation announced this weekend that Bolton Arena, one of the area’s leading tennis sites, has been awarded ‘Beacon’ status as part of the AEGON Parks Tennis programme in recognition of their high quality, affordable community tennis programmes.

Players from Holcombe Brook Tennis Club showed off their skills this week to none other than AEGON GB Davis Cup Team players, Jamie Murray, Colin Fleming and Coach Louis Cayer, after the Lancashire club were treated to a master class.

AEGON GB Davis Cup Team players, Alex Bogdanovic and Jamie Baker took time out from preparations for this weekend’s Davis Cup by BNP Paribas tie against Tunisia in Bolton to put some pupils from St Joseph’s Roman Catholic High School and Sports College through their paces and see how tennis is developing in schools around the country.

British women's No 3 Louise Hunt claimed a brace of titles at the North West Challenge at South Ribble Tennis Centre, Preston on Sunday, while Alex Jewitt and Kevin Plowman gained another home victory in the men's doubles at Britain's first world ranking event on the 2011 NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.
