World No.1 Novak Djokovic enjoyed a practice session of a different sort on the eve of his Australian Open final as he hit with world No.4 quad wheelchair tennis player Andy Lapthorne.
Djokovic, who is appearing in his third consecutive Australian Open final, took to the courts at Melbourne Park to face Lapthorne after the Brit had lost a closely-fought final of his own to American David Wagner.
The British No.2 had reached his first ever Grand Slam singles final and took world No.1 Wagner close in three sets before bowing out 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.
After collecting the runner-up trophies in the quad singles and doubles, he ended his tournament on a high receiving some top tips from the five-time Grand Slam winner.
Djokovic took to Twitter to say how much he'd enjoyed the session saying, "It was a privilege to hit today with Lapthorne. Thank you so much Andrew! It was a pleasure and keep up the good work!"
The Paralympic silver medallist added, "It was an amazing experience and one that I'll never forget. For Novak to take time out of his schedule to hit with me shows what a great guy he is and it was an honour to be on court with such a world class player."
Djokovic takes on Andy Murray in his men's singles final tomorrow while Lapthorne will return home to prepare for his next set of tournaments on the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour which will take place in the UK.
