Further Education Experience Day at the NTC

Students from Leyton Sixth Form College attended a Further Education (FE) Experience Day at the National Tennis Centre (NTC) on Wednesday to inspire them, as well as others, to get more involved in tennis.

As well as the 16 students that attended, a College Sport Maker and a teacher joined the day to learn how to develop their tennis leadership and promotional skills, both on and off the court.

Naomi Bartlett, Leyton Sixth Form College Sport Maker, which is the London Borough of Walthamstow Quote said: “There are nearly 2000 students at our college and after today we should be able to increase their exposure to tennis.

The students here today are part of a Sports Leadership Team and act as representatives to encourage the rest of the college to get involved in sport.”

As well as an on court session, where the students tried out Cardio Tennis and Mini Tennis, they also learnt how they can help increase 16+ aged people playing tennis regularly.

Kadeshia Spence said: “I have learnt that anyone can play tennis, it’s a really good game. It’s fun for everyone and it’s open to everyone. I would definitely try and get the rest of our college playing.”
