Judy Murray showed her support for wheelchair tennis in Manchester by stopping by at the Manchester Tennis and Football Centre to witness the players at work.
The Fed Cup team captain was on hand to witness Caroline Wareing – a wheelchair tennis player from the North West – and 11-year-old Tyrone Uchenna from Ancoats & Clayton show off their skills.
Murray was visiting the centre to witness the efforts of female players getting involved in tennis and was on court with local female coaches and players, including the local female wheelchair tennis players.
And Murray admitted she was delighted to see the level of involvement in tennis from women in the area.
"It was great to see so many girls playing tennis and to work alongside the lady coaches at the Manchester Tennis Centre," she said.
"There was such a great variety of activity on the courts there - for all ages and stages - and I was very impressed with wheelies Caroline and Tyrone. Disability tennis is growing all the time and what I saw in Manchester shows that tennis can be a sport for everyone."
And for those interested in taking it further than a hobby, the Tennis Foundation has launched the Wheelchair Tennis Development Series for 2013.
The eight-round tournament, beginning April 6 in Edinburgh, is aimed at those wanting to start playing competitive tennis before stepping up to the ITF's NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.
