Wolstenholme to take up honorary Vice-President role at BPA

Sue Wolstenholme will take up a new position at the British Paralympic Association as Honorary Vice-President, reflecting her many years of dedication to the development of disability and Paralympic sport.

Wolstenholme served for numerous years on the Board of the BPA but chose not to stand for re-election at the Board elections this year. The BPA and its membership wanted to offer heran opportunity to remain close to the organisation and to thank her for her contribution to the Paralympic movement in the UK.

The proposal to honour Wolstenholme with an Honorary Vice President position was agreed by the Board and unanimously approved by the NPC at the annual general meeting, which was held on Tuesday this week.

Sue Wolstenholme OBE was re-elected to the BPA Board in 2008. She has been involved in disability tennis for over 20 years and as Executive Director of the British Tennis Foundation (now Tennis Foundation) from 1988 to 2007 she has been instrumental to the development of disability tennis, including Wheelchair Tennis, Deaf Tennis and Tennis for people who have learning disability.

She will join Ann Cunliffe, Adrian Whiteson, Dr Bob Price, Tony Sainsbury, Barry Schofield, Bernard Atha, Mike Brace, Graham Peacock, Chris Simon as Honorary Vice-Presidents.
