Katy Dunne has won the December Aegon Player of the Month award after reaching her first ATP Pro-Circuit $25,000 singles final.
At the competition in Pune, India, Katy knocked out Ukrainian No.1 seed Anastasiya Vasylyeva 6-4, 6-3 on Christmas Day before beating No.3 seed Sofia Shapatava 6-1, 6-2 in the semi-final.
The positive week ended with Katy, 19, losing to Indian player Ankita Raina 6-2, 6-2 but reaching a career high singles ranking of 295.
After the final, @katydunne said on Twitter: "Really happy with this week, reaching my first 25k final! Very frustrating today as I couldn't get my best on court but here's to 2015!!!"
