Ben Saunders has won the Coach of the Month Award for February for his work at Campion Tennis Club and Tennis for Free.
Ben runs a variety of programmes at Campion, including Cardio Tennis, disability tennis, adult beginners and performance. He is known for his enthuthiastic and personal approach and has boosted Campion Tennis Club by encouraging more juniors and adult members to play.
Lancashire LTA's Sarah Stephenson: "Ben runs successful Cardio sesssions at Campion Tennis Club and also runs a programme at Victoria Park with Tennis For Free. The launch of this programme was the most successful in Tennis For Free's 10 year history with over 400 school kids attending. As well as this Ben has increased the number of adult and junior members at Campion Tennis Club through his Cardio, Mini Tennis and girls only sessions."
Ben said: "It really means a lot. I've been working hard on developing a strong programme that's welcoming for everyone at Campion Tennis Club for the past five years or so and so to be recognised by the LTA in this way is a great feeling."
He added: "I love what I do, often because of the team around me and people we work with, and really enjoying the variety and different challenges that come with being a tennis coach."
