AEGON Junior Player of the Month

Jazzi Plews has won the AEGON Junior Player of the Month award for March.

Jazzi Plews has received March’s Junior Player of the Month award after her success at junior ITF events in Morocco.

Within two weeks, the 14 year-old from Yorkshire had won an ITF Grade 5 girls’ singles title and then followed up this trophy win by earning runner-up position in the girls’ singles at an ITF Grade 4 competition.

In the Grade 5 event, Plews made her way into the final by overcoming second seed Marie-Ambroisine Faue 6-1, 6-2. The un-seeded Briton then went on to defeat Lou Alder of France 6-3, 6-4 in the final to lift the winner’s trophy in Morocco.

In the final Plews faced sixth seed Marie Ambrosine-Faure of France but was narrowly defeated 6-4, 6-4.
