Dan Smethurst has won the Aegon Player of the Month Award for March after winning five doubles futures titles and three singles futures titles in 2014.
Smethurst kicked off March by winning the men's singles title ITF $15k in Canada with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Bulgarian Dimitar Kutrovsky. The 23 year-old then went on to team up with compatriot Ed Corrie to claim the men’s doubles title.

A week later Smethurst & Corrie teamed up again to win a consecutive doubles title in Canada by defeating No.4 seeds Kocevar-Desman (SLO) & Wietoska (GER) in the final 3-6, 6-3, 10-1.

Smethurst & Corrie then carried on their winning form by taking the men’s doubles title at the ATP Challenger Banque Nationale after defeating Gigounon & Rochus (BEL) 6-2, 6-1 in the final.
