Rain Insurance Refund Procedure / Raincheck Scheme 2015

As the Aegon Classic is played outdoors, play is subject to the weather. If, due to unfavourable weather conditions on the day for which this ticket is valid, there is less than one non-consecutive hour’s play on Centre Court, you may claim a refund to the full face-value of the ticket.  This does not apply where all of the play scheduled for that day for the court(s) which that ticket specifically gives access to has taken place (the latest version of the schedule, including revised schedules released on the day of play, shall apply for these purposes). In such cases, no refund will be given. One non-consecutive hour’s play is measured using the official record of the court umpires.

Refreshments

Public refreshments are available at:

  • Public Marquee at the Priory Road end of the Grounds.
  • The decking area opposite the East Stand B the Centre Court overlooking the outside Match Courts 1 – 4 which also has a licensed bar.

Note:

  • Drinks are only permitted within the stands if they are in plastic/paper cups or plastic/paper containers.
  • Hot and/or smelling food or drink may not be taken onto the Centre Court.
  • The consumption of alcohol is permitted only in the public bars and other authorised areas. The Lawn Tennis Association and the Edgbaston Priory Club reserve the right to refuse entry to the viewing areas of any court (including but not limited to Centre Court) to anyone carrying alcohol and ask anyone drinking alcohol in the stands to leave.

Retail

The on-site retail/merchandising marquee offers a great selection of sport/tennis related products.

Safety and Comfort

The Grounds on which the Aegon Classic is held are not totally level. As well as this, at certain times (for example, before, between and after matches as well as during periods of inclement weather), parts of the Grounds can become busy. We therefore urge you to take care and to consider your own, and others’, safety and comfort by heeding the following advice:

  • Wear appropriate footwear (note: flip-flops and high-heels are not recommended). This will help you make your way to and from the Grounds, enter and exit Centre Court and the spectator viewing areas and negotiate some of the more challenging areas of the site, especially during, or as a result of, inclement weather.
  • Allow good time to reach your seat, or any other destination, avoiding the need to rush through any crowded areas.
  • Take particular care when negotiating stairways, both inside and outside the stadia and especially in crowded conditions. In common with most other sports and entertainment venues, there are no supporting rails to the tiered sections within the courts.
  • Beware of extreme weather conditions; in particular, remember to take appropriate protective measures when spending periods in the sun. Wearing a hat, applying sunscreen regularly throughout the day and drinking plenty of water are all strongly recommended in such conditions.
  • Do not leave any items unattended at any time.  Any such items may be removed and destroyed.
  • Be alert when on the Grounds.  The Aegon Classic is an international tennis tournament at which several matches take place at the same time on neighbouring courts.  As a result, tennis balls can be hit into spectator viewing areas.
  • If you face challenges/difficulties in negotiating distances or hilly ground, it may be easier for you to bring a wheelchair. NOTE: neither the Lawn Tennis Association nor the Edgbaston Priory Club provides wheelchairs for visitors.

Please note that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Lawn Tennis Association and the Edgbaston Priory Club exclude any liability for loss, injury or damage to persons and/or property in or around the Grounds.  Neither the Lawn Tennis Association nor the Edgbaston Priory Club shall be responsible for any interrupted and/or restricted view.

Security

In the interests of security, The Lawn Tennis Association and Edgbaston Priory Club reserves the right to search bags, vehicles and the person as a condition of entry to the Grounds. DO NOT LEAVE PACKAGES UNATTENDED AT ANY TIME.  ANY SUCH ITEMS MAY BE REMOVED AND DESTROYED.

Shopping

It is probably worth noting for visitors to the city that Birmingham offers some of the best shopping in the country! From the Bullring to the designer label heaven of the Mailbox, there is something for everyone. The world famous Jewellery Quarter also produces around 40% of all UK made jewellery.

Smoking

Is only permitted within the designated outdoor smoking areas.

Telephones

There are no public telephones located on site at the Grounds.

Television screen

A television screen in the public marquee will show live scores from each of the match courts or live tennis from the Centre Court towards the latter part of the tournament.

Tickets can be collected and/or purchased via the on site Box Office.

Public toilet and disabled toilet facilities are located at the Priory Road end of the Grounds.

Please see the Venue Information for details about travelling to the Aegon Classic by bus, taxi, tram and train.

Weather

SUN: Visitors to the Aegon Classic are reminded to take the appropriate measures for protection of the skin against the sun. You may be in sunlight for long periods when the use of sunscreens and protective hats and clothes is essential.

RAIN (Rain Insurance Refund Policy): As the Aegon Classic is played outdoors, play is subject to the weather.

Wheelchair users

There will be reserved spaces for a limited number of wheelchair users on the Centre Court, together with a seat for a companion/carer. Wheelchair users are charged full price with up to one extra ticket allocated on a free of charge basis for nominated carer/companion; please contact the Box Office to make a reservation.
