The Frenchwoman opened her qualifying campaign at Edgbaston, Birmingham against British wild card Daneika Borthwick winning 6-2, 6-1.
The shock of the day was Australian second seed Olivia Rogowska being knocked out by Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski in straight sets 6-3, 7-6(4).
Kirsten Flipkens is the top seed in the main draw at the grass-court tournament, while Melanie Oudin is back to defend her title.
Anne Keothavong, Heather Watson, Laura Robson, Tara Moore, Johanna Konta and Melanie South also feature in the main draw, with play beginning on Monday.
