Magdalena Rybarikova caused the biggest upset of the day by knocking out top seed Kirsten Flipkens in Birmingham on Thursday.

The Slovakian 2009 Aegon Classic Champion Rybarikova defeated the Belgian world No.20 7-6(5), 6-2 in one hour and 24 minutes to set up a quarter-final meeting with American Madison Keys.
