Kyle Edmund won his first ATP World Tour singles match by beating Kenny De Schepper at the Aegon International on Monday.

The 18-year-old came through in a convincing 6-4, 6-4 scoreline over the French qualifier on a sunny Centre Court at Devonshire Park in round one of the men's singles event.

“It's nice to have this win,” said Edmund, who's based in Beverly. “I had the intent of trying to put a lot of balls in play and go from there.

"It worked out great. I'm just happy to get the win after being given a wild card and this great opportunity. It's a nice feeling."
