Tennis is set to be a major part of the London Olympics as the action gets under way at the All England Club this weekend – and people of all ages are being given the opportunity to give the sport a go themselves.
Hyde Park and Victoria Park in London are hosting a number of free tennis sessions throughout the Olympic Games as part of the BT London Live ‘Have A Go’ programme, which starts this Saturday, July 28.
The opening coincides with the start of the Olympic tennis programme at Wimbledon where the eight-strong Team GB squad will be aiming for glory.
Hyde Park will be hosting four free sessions on six courts on Saturday July 28 (11am-2.20pm), Friday August 3 (2.50pm-5.40pm), Wednesday August 8 (11am-2.20pm) and Saturday August 11 (11am-2.20pm)
Meanwhile, free tennis taster sessions will be taking place at Victoria Park on five courts on Sunday July 29, Thursday August 2 and Sunday August 12 – all sessions from 11am until 3.30pm.
All sessions are free to players of all ages and abilities.
