'Volleys & Values - Inspired by London 2012' launches

'Volley & Values', a new resource by the Tennis Foundation & Lawn Tennis Association has launched this week.

Volleys & Values is an innovative and inspiring cross curricular resource for children to learn more about the game of tennis and the values that underpin the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It was written with support of Young Ambassadors from Parkstone Grammar School, Poole.

The resource has been granted the prestigious London 2012 Inspire mark, the badge of the London 2012 Inspire programme which recognises exceptional and innovative projects inspired by the 2012 Games.

Clare Wood, Tennis Competition Manager for the London 2012 Games, said:

"Volleys & Values is an inspirational learning experience for all school children, combining the traditional elements of education with fun Olympic and Paralympic based information.

"A huge amount of thought and hard work has gone into producing the series of 12 lesson plans, which are well researched and put together. It is fantastic that Young Ambassadors have been involved in creating the resource ensuring Volleys & Values is for young people, by young people."

2,012 hard-copies are available to schools registering on a first-come, first-served basis (limited to 1 per school). Schools can also download the whole resource from late March 2012.
