In the singles opening round, Laura Deigman who had received a lucky loser position was defeated by Spanish qualifier Miriam Civera Lima 6-0, 6-1.
In the doubles, Deigman has partnered Daiana Negreanu (ROU) and the duo are through to the second round, while Farah Abdelaziz was beaten in round one with Kristina Ostojic.
