Andy Murray into Wimbledon fourth round

Andy Murray is yet to drop a set as he continued his title defence at Wimbledon on Friday.

The 2013 Wimbledon champion booked his place in the fourth round as he came past Spanish 27th seed Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 on Centre Court at The All England Club.

Murray, 27, who has only dropped his serve one so far this tournament, took four attempts to seal his win in just over one and a half hours. 

Murray, who is now into the second week of Wimbledon for the seventh consecutive year, plays big serving South African on Monday.

Speaking after the match, Murray said: “He’s [Agut] won a lot of matches lately he’s made a lot of improvements this year, he fought extremely hard, there were a lot of close games at the end.”

“You’re going to get tested at some point in these events, sometimes early on and sometimes later on, you just have to be physically and mentally ready for them.”

Success continues for Jamie Murray & John Peers

Jamie Murray and John Peers’ Wimbledon campaign continued as they defeated Jamie Delgado & Gilles Muller in the second round of the men’s doubles.

Murray and Australian partner Peers, came past the British/Luxembourg duo 6-3, 7-6(7), 6-3 to set up at third round meeting with either Martin Klizan & Dominic Thiem or second seeds Alexander Peya & Bruno Soares.

Jonny Marray & John-Patrick Smith defeated in round two

Jonny Marray’s bid to win a second Wimbledon title came to an end on Friday as he and John-Patrick Smith were defeated over four sets.

Marray, a former men’s doubles champion at SW19 in 2012, fought with his Australian partner to take the opening set again Columbian Juan-Sebastian Cabal and Poland’s Marcin Matkowski, before suffering defeat 4-6, 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-3 on Court 10.

Meanwhile Naomi Broady (GBR) & Eleni Daniilidou (GRE) resumed their rain interrupted match on Friday missing out to American seventh seeds Raquel Kops-Jones & Abigail Spears 7-6(3), 7-5.

Brits progress into mixed doubles second round

British mixed doubles pairing Colin Fleming & Jocelyn Rae have moved into the second round of the mixed doubles as they overcame Scott Lipsky (USA) & Jie Zheng (CHN) 6-2, 6-0 in 56 minutes on Friday.

The duo play Indian Rohan Bopanna & Czech Andrea Hlavackova in round two.

Neal Skupski & Naomi Broady also saw success defeating Darija Jurak of Croatia & Columbian Robert Farah 7-5, 7-6(5).

Broady & Skupski play Marrero & Parra-Santonja next.

The success in mixed doubles continued as Dominic Inglot & Johanna Konta came past South African Raven Klaasen and New Zealander Marina Erakovic in straight sets 7-6(5), 6-4.

Inglot & Konta play second seeds Bob Bryan & Kveta Peschke in round two.

Ross Hutchins & Heather Watson missed out in three set in their opening round mixed doubles match on Friday.

Watson & Hutchins were defeated 1-6, 6-1, 9-7 by Russian Mikhail Elgin & Australian Anastasia Rodionova.

Meanwhile James Ward & Anna Smith missed out in straight sets to Nicholas Monroe (USA) & Shuai Zhang (CHN).
