The popularity of this event continues to spread for as well as entrants from different parts of England there were youngsters from Poland & Rumania.
This meant a severe test for our local players however Berkshire produced finalists in 3 of the Girls Singles. CHLOE LANT from the home club won the 16U by defeating ANYA STILL (Hants) after losing the first set and then in her 8th match of the week lost to Surrey’s KELLY BURGE in straight sets in the 18u final. Meanwhile KIRAN DHULL (Win tennis Bisham) took the 12U title beating ERIN RICHARDSON (Dorset) in the final.
VLAD ONITA from Rumania won both the 16U & 18U boys singles defeating PIERS FARHANG (Middlesex) in both finals.
There were “hard luck” stories in the boys for Maidenhead players with LEWIS BROWN going down by 14 to 12 points in the final set tie-break of his 14u quarter final whilst SAM FORGANI led 6/4 & 5/3 before being edged out in the 18u.
The event was superbly managed by SARAH TRICKS Referee and CHRIS MANN Tournament Director.
