Megan, who is a Head sponsored player, reached the semi final of both the singles and doubles at the recent Aegon 16&U British National Championships held in Nottingham.
Megan,15, who was unseeded, battled her way through beating the 18&U National Champion, Lauren John Baptiste, in the second round.
In the quarter finals she faced Alexandra Hunter, who she had lost to in their previous two meetings. After losing the first set Megan came back to win the next two sets 6-1, 6-3.
Unfortunately she tore a stomach muscle in the quarter finals of the doubles.
After physio and with heavy taping, Megan took to the court for her semi final against Emily Appleton, endeavouring to continue her great run. Unfortunately, she only managed 3 games in the semi final before having to retire
A tough end but a great result for Megan who has another chance in the 16&U next year.
Megan now has a couple of weeks off before she heads back to JTC tennis at Northwood to start training and studying for her GCSEs
Congratulations to Megan, who is a previous winner of the prestigious Berkshire Manning Davenport award and was also instrumental in Berkshire’s promotion this summer from Division 3 of the Aegon Ladies County Cup.
