Aegon British Tour Masters: Preview. Willis Number 1 Seed

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

The Aegon British Tour Masters gets underway at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Thursday, with 32 men and 32 women converging on the city, having qualified through points accumulated at the 40 events held throughout Britain in 2013.

With £2,000 prize money for the winner and a total prize money pot of £22,600, the draw includes 15 world ranked men and 8 world ranked women in the respective draws.

Top seed for the four day event is Marcus Willis. 23 year-old Willis from Slough has just returned from a successful trip to Greece, and arrives in Nottingham with a world ranking of 359, close to his career high of 346 in October.

As top seed, he will be looking to win his first Master’s title, having lost to Richard Bloomfield at the quarter-final stage in each of the last two years.

Marcus gets underway on Thursday 28th November against Phillip Sikman. Also representing Berkshire is the 5th Seed James Ireland. James gets his tournament underway on Thursday afternoon against Jospeh Gill.
