In the dizzy heights of Division 2 Berkshire Men’s team were close to reaching the premier Division at Norwich. Two great 5-4 victories versus Middlesex and Warwickshire preceded a 2-5 defeat to the home team Norfolk
Both of the victories were down to the strength of Berkshire in the doubles with impressive wins by debutants Elliot Dimmock, Robbie Ridout and George Hedley.
Skipper Richard May pointed out that if Berkshire No.1 Marcus Willis had not been stuck in Athens due to rain “we could well have won but the youngsters Elliot, Robbie and George did particularly well”.
